LADBS Information:

  • The LADBS has posted the City of Los Angeles passed Ordinance 183893. It is signed into law that structures susceptible to catastrophic damage from an earthquake are to be retrofitted.
  • Once you have received your receipt of the compliance order you have.
  • 2 years: Submit proof of existing retrofit, or plan to retrofit or demolition of existing structure.
  • 3.5 years: acquire a permit to construct retrofit and or demolition.
  • 7 years: To complete seismic retrofitting of existing structure.Safety Rules
